JAMMU (PTI): The Indian Pakistan forces along with Kashmir Line of Control exchanged fire on June 21. No casualties were reported.
The firing took place in Kerni sector of border district of Poonch, official sources said here Tuesday. The sources said a civilian was injured when he was hit by stray bullets.
Indian forces also retaliated and the exchange of fire continued with light arms for some time. Pak troops had been resorting to unprovoked firing on Indian positions in different sectors of border district of Rajouri and Poonch during the last two months in a bid to push Pak trained militants in Kashmir valley from Pakistan occupied Kashmir, the sources said, Meanwhile, a bomb blast rocked a school building in a village in Rajouri district Monday, However, no one was injured in the explosion though the building suffered partial damage. Security forces have also recovered one hand grenade and some ammunition in a village of Poonch district Monday, an official report said here.
Over 1000 persons have been killed in strife torn northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, ravaged by militancy in the past four years.
