NEW DELHI: Punjab chief minister Beant Singh along with Umrao Singh M.P, met prime minister Narasimha Rao last week in a bid to lobby for the appointment of Umrao Singh as a central minister, India already has two junior ministers from Punjab A.L.Bhatia and Sukhbans Kaur Bhinder, The two are said to not be the supporters of the chief minister and came to power on the strength of their own connections. Beant Singh even suggested that one of the two ministers could be dropped to accommodate Umrao Singh.
