TORONTO: A two percent fare hike and cuts in train service takes hitting 125,000 daily commuters ‘in the greater Toronto area. The fare increase and service will follow an order by the provincial Government to slash $4.3 million from GO’s $150 million operating budget. They will result in a $2 million savings this year, hardest hit by cutbacks are riders who are the train in off-peak hours.
