CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association has urged the Chief Justice of the High Court to order a court inquiry, with the help of the GBI, into the death of an advocate, Kulwant Singh, his wife and two year old son on January 25, allegedly in police custody.
The association, which organized a dhama before the court on Feb.9 to protest the killing, said its representatives have returned from Ropar with the unmistakable impression that Kulwant Singh and his family were killed in police custody and suspected the hand of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Jaspal Singh, and SHO of city police station, Ropar in the incident The SSP, Ropar, was also aware of it, the association alleged.
It demanded medical examination of the bodies of the victims by a board of directors at the PGI and suspension of the DSP and the SHO and transfer of the SSP pending the enquiry.
