BHOPAL: A worker of the Bharatya Janata Party (BJP) was killed and two others injured owing to an explosion in office of the banned Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS) at Neemuch town on Jan.23 at 9:30 p.m.

Neemuch falls in Mandsaur District, which is the home district of former BJP Government’s Chief Minister Sunderlal Patwa. The explosion took place when bombs were being made.

The deceased has been identified as Raju Yadav, according to a report Gajendra Sharma, a Government servant with RSS links, and Kalu Singh Yadav were seriously injured. The former’s eye was damaged due to the explosion! This incident has come as ashock because the explosion took place while the above three persons were making bombs in candle light, the report added.

Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Digvijay Singh, who is Congress MP from Rajgarh consistency, has bitterly criticized the BJP and the RSS for such an act. Ina statement issued here on Sunday, Digvijay Singh said the bomb explosion took place in the combined office of the RSS and the Bajrang Dal.

The MPCC President has accused the BJP of creating terror to foil the functions to be organized on the Republic Day. The BJP, he added, is trying to disturb peace.

Digvijay Singh has appealed to Madhya Pradesh Governor Kunwar Mehmood Ali ‘Khan to instruct the Police Administration to keep a strict vigil on members and office-bearers of the Sangh so that the BJP and organizations backed by it do not succeed in disturbing peace and amity in the State. Local administration has sealed the office. But there is a reign of terror among residents of Neemuch over Saturday night’s explosion, maintained Singh.

However, State Chief of BJP Lakhiram Agarwal on Sunday pleaded his ignorance about the incident.
