BOMBAY (PTI): A prominent Muslim leader was shot dead by four unidentified persons in south Bombay here April 21.
Police said the assailants, who came in a taxi, accosted Muslim leaguer Ziauddin Bukhari and pumped several bullets into him. Tension prevailed in certain parts of the city with shopkeepers downing shutters, believing that the Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Abdullah Bukhari, an important religious leader of the Muslims and whose sumame is same as the deceased, had died, police said.
