CHANDIGARH: The Indian government has reportedly signaled officers of its administration in Chandigarh to propose Conferment of a special Republic Day honor on Sumedh Saini union territory’s senior superintendent of police.
Saini is known for his antiSikh ruthlessness. He is allegedly responsible for assault on newsmen at Amritsar the killing of a Punjab Agricultural University professor at Ludhiana and an attack on Akali leader Simarnjit Singh Mann while Saini was posted to these districts in recent years. He is son of the Junior Police Officers and was recruited to I.P.S. in 1984.
But Delhi takes special pride in Saini’s “achievements” vis-a-vis Sikhs and is keen on making views known by recognizing. “merit” of the officer.
India gives honors to officers and others on January 26 every year mostly based on the recipients political views and proximity to Delhi’s rulers
