JOHANNESBURG: An Indian doctor and his family were recently attacked by a group of whites in the Natal south coast.
Colin Naicker his family and a teacher from Pietermaritzburg R Moodley were attacked and insulted by 15 whites when they were on a picnic in the Winkelspruit town.
Naicker told journalists that his six yrs. old nephew had to be taken to hospital after being attacked.
To lodge a complaint in the police station Naicker said they had to wait for seven hours. By the time the attackers had left but others remained passing racist remarks he said.
“When the police left the men charged at us” Naicker said.
A police spokesperson said two men had been arrested for drinking in public but were released when they became sober. No charges had been laid against then.
