TORONTO: General Mills Restaurants, part of the General Mills Inc., U.S. restaurant chain has closed 15 outlets in Ontario and Quebec, The closure will affect the 13 Red Lobster and two Olive Gardens restaurants seven in Metro Toronto area and job losses to approximate 650 employees. Company spokesperson Anne Lise Gasser blamed the move on poor profits. She said that about halt at the metro area Red Lobster employees will be considered for employment in other locations. Gasser said the company will make severance payments in accordance with the provincial guidelines.
