SASHATOON: Sardar Mohem Singh Alhuwala a retired high school teacher of Canada was awarded a commemorative medal on the 125th Anniversary of Canadian Confederation. The honor bestowed by the Governor General of Canada, commends Alhuwala for “significant contribution to Canada.”
Besides having taught at the high school and university classes, he is a former president of Sikh Society of Sashatchewan and has been member of the kinsmen club for the last 17 years. An active member of various religions, social and cultural organizations Alhuwalia ts on the race relations committee of the city of Saskatoon, He has fought and won a case against racism in the capacity. In recognition of his services to the Community and the country Manokar Singh Alhuwalia was received the award for the Nation’s Governor General last month.
