NEW DELHI: In a clearly selective case of party discipline, the Congress on April 26 dismissed any possibility of action against Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh for his covert role in disrupting senior Cabinet member, Arjun Singh’s seminar in Ludhiana on Sunday.
The Congress, in tum put the onus on Arjun Singh virtually daring him to file a complaint against Beant Singh, regarded in party circles as a diehard loyalist of Prime Minister P.V .Narasimha Rao.
AICC spokesman V.N,Gadgil when asked whether the party would initiate disciplinary action against the Punjab, Chief Minister or his supporters, replied, “Arjun Singh says he has no complaint.”
