CALCUTTA (PTI): India pulled off a surprise 32 with in their Davis Cup World group tic against highly ranked Switzerland here March 28 as Ramesh Krishnan defeated Jakob Hlasck in the crucial second reverse singles. Krishnan outplayed Hlasek in straight sets 63 64 62 at the South Club here to help India advance into the second round.
The touch artist got India the winning lead after Marc Rosset had overpowered Pacs 64 64 6 4 in the first reverse singles tie Sunday to neutralize India’s 21 lead after their victory in the doubles Saturday.
