BAHRAIN (PTI): Iran wants India to provide assistance in development of agriculture and agro based industries like tea Cultivation and water and soil development to Iran.
This was conveyed by Iranian agriculture minister ISSA Kalantari at a meeting, with visiting Indian agriculture minister Balram Jakhar in Tehran Jan 27.
Jakhar is currently heading a nine member delegation to Iran.
During his talks with Kalantari, Jakhar envisaged cooperation between the two countries in all areas of agriculture including fisheries, management of water resources and tea plantation.
Kalantari said Iran was ready to exchange agro experts with India as well as have its assistance in tea cultivation, water and soil development and tropical plants, according to Iran.
Jakhar, who arrived in Tehran Wednesday, also met the Iranian minister of construction, Gholamreza Forouzesh.
