NEW DELHI (PTI): Within a day after the crash of the Russian made TU154 plane here, the executive pilots of the Indian airlines on Jan.10 voluntarily decided to resume duties.
The executive pilots designated as deputy operations manager were boycotting the flying duties since Dec.12 to protest against the change in their flying duty norms by airline management
Meanwhile, the 475 member Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA), who have been on strike since December 10 demanding higher wages and better safety norms, have agreed to come for talks with the management on Tuesday.
All the 12 executive pilots in Bombay decided to report for duty after their discussions with the regional director Capt. S.T.Deo.
Seven executive pilots resumed their duties on Sunday. Of these, five have rejoined at Calcutta and two in Madras, an [A release said.
The Russian aircraft which was wet leased from Uzbekistan, due to pilot’s strike, crash landed at Delhi airport on Saturday but all the 165 passengers and crew on board escaped miraculously.
