BOMBAY: The star turned politician and Congress MP from Bombay northwest constituency, Sunil Dutton Jan.12 resigned from the Lok Sabha as “‘a self-imposed punishment, in the wake of the deteriorating law and order situation in the metropolis.

In his resignation letter to the Prime Minister, P.V.Narasimha Rao, Dutt expressed his anguish that “there are no signs of peace in near future and clouds of darkness are hanging over the city where as an elected member of Parliament feel totally, helpless, pained and tortured, that I as an MP, am unable bring some solace and peace in the lives of people.”
