CHANDIGARH: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BYP) has demanded Imposition of ban on the Congress Party, as it is the largest “communal Party which always played politics on communal lines, especially in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and in Delhi during the 1984 riots.”
Addressing a press conference here on Jan.3, BJP vice-president, Krishan Lal Sharma, held the Congress Responsible for India’s Partition on communal lines, thus laying the foundation of a communal divide in 1947.
He also accused the Prime Minister, P.V.Narasimha Rao, of adopting a discriminatory posture Over the imposition of ban on RSS and various other organizations, while no such action had been taken against the All India Babri Masjid Action Committee (AIBMAC), which was equally associated with the Ayodhya dispute.
Later, addressing party workers, the party vice-president asked them to adopt an aggressive stand to counter the propaganda unleashed by the Congress and other political parties over Ayodhya. “If BJP comes to power at the Center, we will certainly prosecute the Prime Minister and others for describing the demolished structure at Ayodhya as a mosque,” he said.
The BJP will not tolerate any “sakan karseva of a trust sponsored by the government to undertake the construction of the temple al Ayodhya, he said, adding that such an action will further complicate the issue.
The only solution to the Ayodhya dispute was to reserve the entire area of Panchkoshi Parikarma for constriction of the temple and to allot a new place for construction of the mosque, he said Sharma welcomed the suggestion made by Syed Shahbuddin, MP and a member of the Babri Masjid Action Committee, for allotment of a new site for the construction of mosque at Ayodhya.
Sharma also accused the Prime Minister of betraying the nation by not fulfilling the promise made to the saints at Delhi on July 27, for finding an amicable settlement to the dispute within a period of four months. Rao should seek a fresh mandate to justify his move in the Ayodhya episode and its aftermath, he added.
Pointing out that with the emergence of political instability, the country is left with no option but immediate midterm elections to the Lok Sabha, the BJP leader announced that his party will observe an “Anti-Repression Week” from January 8-5 in the country to protest the ban imposed on RSS and other organizations, the arrest of BSP leaders and dismissal of the party’s governments in Himachal Pradesh Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh who will also observe a “Pledge Week” from January 25 to 31 and later organize a massive party in Delhi, during the next budget session. Referring 10 reports of the publication of a white paper for the Central government on the Ayodhya incidents, the BJP leader demanded that it should include the proceedings which took place between July 27 to December.
The BJP leader said that Prime Minister had crossed the limits of law by imposing a line on RSS and other organization without waiting for the report of the probe panel or constitution of the tribunal under the provision of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1977. “The movement is forcing a situation where all the inquiry commissions and tribunals will have to endorse decisions for want of evidence he stated.
