LUDHIANA, Punjab, India: The conspiracy to kill General AS, Vaidya was allegedly hatched in Chandigarh, This is believe to have been told by Harjinder Singh Jinda to the police during his interrogation at Delhi. Jinda and Satnam Singh Bawa were arrested in Delhi in Sept ember. According to Punjab police sources, Jinda told his interrogators that they went to Bombay from Chandigarh. They stayed in a hotel in Bombay and they reached Pune on August 7, 1986. They procured one revolver, two pistols and cartridges from Pune and one Suzuki motorcycle. Jinda is alleged to have fold that he along with Sukkah went to the General’s residence to confirm about the place of his residence. They again went to the house of Vaidya and saw the General coming out of the house with his wife; they followed him on the motorcycle. Jinda said that Sukkah fired on Vaidya who was killed on the spot. After the shooting they went to a house in Kilinga Vihar. They kept the motorcycle and the arms at the house. Then they went to Khandala Ghat by bus and from there by a taxi to Bombay.
