NEW DELHI: The New Indian government would continue to support the Palestinian people’s struggle for freedom, Janata Dal General Secretary and M.P. Yashwant Sinha said here.
Addressing a seminar on “Human Rights of the Palestinian people,” Sinha expressed the hope that Palestinians would emerge victorious in their fight.
“You may lose a battle today or tomorrow but I do not have any doubt about the success of Palestinian peoples fight for freedom and dignity,” he said.
The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Ambassador, Dr. Khaled El Sheikh said their fight was nonviolent and peaceful.
“We will continue it till we achieve our aim,” he said.
The Chief Representative of the League of Arab state mission here Mohammed El Hassan Shabbo condemned the “repressive measures” of the Israeli government and said that Palestinians had been reduced to second rate citizens in their own homeland.
Dr.G.N. Srivastay, General Secretary, Indian Institute for nonaligned studies, said the struggle of Palestinian people had been seen as the part of worldwide struggle against colonialism and imperialism.
Srivastay said nongovernmental organizations had played a significant role throughout the world to support and encourage the struggle of the PLO.
