NEW DELHI: Romesh Bhandari, who was transferred to Andaman and Nicobar Islands as administrator following the appointment of Air Chief Marshal Arjan Singh as Lt Governor of Delhi, has declined the new posting.
The sources said Bhandari handed over his resignation letter to the president stating that as “my appointment as the Lt Governor of Delhi has been viewed as a political appointment and my transfers also on political considerations.”
In the letter he has requested Venkatarman to accept his Resignation and find someone else for the post being offered to ‘him, the sources added.
