NEW DELHI: The National Front government plans to convert the state run All India Radio and the autonomous corporations, Janata Dal leader Rajmohan Gandhi said here late Thursday.
In a television interview, Gandhi said the Janata Dal was working out details to make radio and television free of official control.
Asked about Congressmen joining the Janata Dal, Gandhi said they had left the ruling party because of the controversial gun deal signed with A B Bofors of Sweden and corruption and as such he felt they had taken the right step.
Referring to the election in the Amethi parliamentary constituency from where he contested un successfully against Rajiv Gandhi, he said the election commission had taken a wrong decision in not ordering a repoll in the entire constituency.
A repoll was ordered in 97 booths in Amethi following allegations of widespread rigging. PTI.
