SRINAGAR: Two bomb blasts, including one at a former minister’s house, Monday rocked south Anatnag township of the Kashmir valley, report PTI.
Reports said militants hurled a bomb at a house belonging to Asraf Khan, Cooperative Minister in the late Sheikh Abdullah government, causing damage to the building.
The blast occurred in the house around 1600 hours 1st in Achhabal locality.
Another blast damaged a building housing the Civil Investigation Department, where a polling booth was to be set up.
Army conducted a flag march in the state capital Srinagar as a precautionary measure.
The situation in the city was normal. No untoward incident ‘was reported from anywhere,
The militant outfits here have given a call for a general Strike from November 22 to 24 (polling days), the reports said.
In another incident in the district, one person was shot dead near Marhai village.
