CHANDIGARH: Thirteen people, including a retired Deputy Superintendent of Border Security Force and militant Avtar Singh were killed in Kashmir and Punjab since Sunday night.
Reports said Avtar Singh, belonging to “the Khalistan Commando Force” and carrying are ward of Rs 50,000, his close associate and a BSF personnel were killed in an encounter with security forces in Ferozepur district.
Gunmen intruded into the house of Balwant Singh, retired DSP, BSF, at village Niranjanpura in Majitha and shot him dead.
Gunmen armed with Chinese assault rifles raided the house of a village official at Tndwan in Ferozepur district and shot him and his three sons dead.
Lateran official of the public health department was shot.
A Deputy Superintendent and five soldiers of the Central Reserve Police Force 41 battalion were injured in an ambush near village Dubli in Amritsar.
In Khatriwala village in Bhatinda farmer Harpal Singh was gunned down inside his house, another woman was killed in village Peer kot also in Bhatinda.
A special police officer Trilok Singh, of the Kaalam village post in Gurdaspur district was shot dead.
A girl, Manpreet Kaur, was killed at village Goslan of Ropar district.
