ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto Wednesday reiterated her county’s readiness for negotiations to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the south Asian region on a nondiscriminatory basis.

Inaugurating the South Asia Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Foreign Ministers meeting here, Bhutto said we seek to work together as neighbors to avert the dangers of armed conflict, particularly the danger of a nuclear arms race.

Paskistan she stressed, was committed to peace in the world in general and in South Asia in particular.

While India vies the nuclear issue on a global plane, Pakistan is keen to find a regional solution for the problem vis-vis India, Bhutto pointed out PTL.
