GUWAHATI(PTI): Rajiv Gandhi’s congress (1) party leader Sailen Das and his bodyguard Naren Kalita, were shot dead by suspected United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) militants at Rajamaidan in Jorhat town of the ‘upper reaches of the northeastern Indian state of Assam Monday, official sources here said.
The two scooter-borne assailants fired at their vehicle killing them on the spot. The driver of the vehicle was injured.
