KANPUR: Thirteen persons were injured when the North East ex press from new Delhi to Guwhati was stopped at refund railway station and attacked by some persons in protest against the killing of 19 students in Patiala, railway sources said here Saturday.
The injured persons were traveling in the military compartment, the sources said.
While six of the injured persons had been admitted in hospitals seven of them were allowed to continue their onward journey after first aid, the sources said.
The railway sources said the A/C two-tier coach of the express was damaged when it was attacked by stones.
