SACRAMENTO: Honorable Congressman Wally Herger once again condemned the repression let loose on Sikhs in India. Speaking on the occasion of the 520th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji at the Gurdwara here he reiterated his support to the Sikh: cause. He assured the congregation: that they had a strong voice in the US. House of Representatives but exhorted Sikhs to meet their local congressmen and to get involved in local politics.
Mr Herger was met at the airport by the five member committee including S. Gurcharan Singh Dhillon president of the World Sikh Organization and S. Pargan Singh. The former students and’ teachers of the Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College Association hosted the function. This is an annual feature of the Association. Mr Herger was presented a plaque by the gurdwara president S. Pargan Singh and a siropa by S. Wad hawa Singth the granthi. The secretary S. Bakshish Singh also thanked the Congressman for his ‘work and support.
