SRINAGAR: Normal life remained paralyzed in the entire valley with reports of police firing and bomb hurling by subversives in certain localities following call for 4 today strike by some militant Outfits, report PTI.

Police fired in the air to dispense a violent mob which pelted stones at a school in Karan Nagar locality, police said, however, no one was injured in the firing.

In another incident, subversives hurled a petrol bomb at a central reserve police force (CRPF) picket near new Fatehkadal locality of Srinagar, the summer capital of the state, no one was injured in the incident.

Some youths pelted stones on CRPF personnel in Rainwari and on passing vehicles in Batmaloo, but were chased await.

Reports from other towns in the valley said the strike was complete with shops and commercial establishments remaining closed and vehicular traffic completely disrupted.

A mushroom growing plant in Badgam District was set ablaze by some unidentified people and a portion of the old office of the Srinagar road transport corporation gutted in a devastating fire.

Police sources suspect the hand of subversives behind the incident.

An official spokesman said the situation in Srinagar city and other town of Kashmir valley remained more or less peaceful.

Meanwhile, curfew was relaxed for about five hours in trouble torn Kishtwar in Doda District of Jammu, an official report said.

No untoward incident occurred in the town where the situation remained tense.
