TOKYO, Japan: International Olympic Committee President Juan Antonio Samaranch has said countries which boycott next year’s Seoul Olympics may be banned from the following Olympic Games in 1992. ‘Samaranch, who visited Japan earlier this Week, said in a prerecorded television interview on the NHK channel that he expected many Communist ‘countries to accept the invitation to the ‘Seoul Games by the deadline in January.
A dispute between north and south Korea over how many events in the ‘games should be hosted by Pyong- Yang has forced Communist bloc countries, including China and the Soviet Union to dealy accepting the invitatories.
