NEW DELHI, India: Police arrested 11 Tibetans after hundreds of exiles burnt the Chinese flag in New Delhi on Thursday and vowed to continue their fight against Chinese occupation of their homeland.
Police dragged eight crying college girls and three men on to trucks after they staged a hunger strike outside the Chinese Embassy to press for the release of Tibetans held after recent protests in Lhasa that Peking said left six people dead.
Earlier, 12 00 Tibetans bran dishing giant banners and Tibetan flags chanted “Down With Deng Xiaoping” (the Chinese leader) as they marched across the Indian capital.
