CHANDIGARK, India: Former Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and former SGP.C, Chief, Mr. Gurcharan Singh Tohra| were remanded judicial custody till Au- gust 30, 1986 by the Delhi Metro- polite Magistrate, Mr. B.K. Jain They were produced in his court on August 23 when their firs remand expired.
Both refused to be released on bail. They were arrested on August 9 and were remanded to judicial custody by the court.
They had gone to Delhi to visit the riot-affected areas and to help the Sikh victims but Delhi administration had banned their entry in Delhi. The charge sheet against them was presented on August 20 in the court, they demanded a copy of the charge sheet in Punjabi as they could not read Hindi, The court ordered that they should be supplied with copies in Gurmukhi on August 30; they will again be produced in the court on that date. Ten members of the Akali Dal have been allowed to meet them.
