CANDIGARH, India: The Union Home Minister has asked the Regional Passport office, Chandigarh in a recent communication not to review or issue the passports of a dozen Akali leaders. The confidential list includes the names of Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and Gurcharan Singh Tohra, The matter came to light when Inderpal Singh Baghi, Chairman of a Punjab Corporation, officially applied for a passport for Central Asia, Mr. Baghi was informed by the Regional Passport office that Union Home Ministry has ordered that he should not be issued a passport as he was a proclaimed offender. Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Sugit Singh Barnala has written a letter to the Union Home Minister for reconsideration of this issue.
