In conversation with one reporter, last month, I came to know that due to pressure of the Indian Government, FBI here is suspecting the Sikhs of unlawful activates.
They place Sikhs here in U.S.A with other groups like Palestine’s, Libyans, etc., and think that theorist activities. One special correspondent who is preparing reports (on various communities contacted ‘me and I gave him about one hour interview, expressing our point of view that the Sikhs are peace loving people. Later he was taken to the Sikh Temple and shown the Sikh Museum. It was emphasized that the Sikhs have, All along, been defenders of human rights. Even during the Mughal rule, there was ‘a price on the heads of the Sikhs and now in India, the young Sikhs ‘are being murdered and put in jails.
To give details about the religious background, Dr.S.S. Dharam also joined in.
The interview will be aired on Channel 9-KHJ-TV on August 17, 1986 at 8:00 p.m. All Sikhs are requested to inform their American friends to listen to this interview to have proper appreciation of the Sikh problem in India.
