WASHINGTON, D.C. The immigration Judge, Jane Arrow Smith, giving her Judgment on the deportation proceedings against General Jas want Singh Bhullar, Secretary General, World Sikh Organization, said that he was free to leave for any country on or before September 1, 1986, “Thereafter you will be deported to India”, she declared. She made it clear that no case was made out against him but according to the laws of the land, he could not be permitted to stay on without any status; it is not possible to stay in this country indefinitely on a tourist visa.

When contacted on the phone, Gen. Bhullar told the World Sikh News that he had no plans to go back to India. “I will follow the advice of the Governing Council, I understand that the governing council is seized of the matter”, he said.
