NEW DELHI — About 8,000 women, from all over the country, will march to Ayodhya on October 20 demanding that the position of the Ram Janmabhoomi Babri Masjid issue remain the same as it was on India’s independence day.

Vilma Farooqui, general secretary of the National Federation of Indian women, told newsmen they would educate people that no attempt should be made to destroy both places of worship and nothing should be done till the Allahabai high court judgement was announced on this issue.

The controversy over the issue that has been now continuing for several de cades may take a communal turn since one of the Hindu communal parties has decided to build a temple there against the Wishes of the. Muslim community who also consider it a place of their own worship.

However Vilma Faroogi hoped that the march would help in bringing about peace and amity among all communities and an end to communal bitterness.
