Bombay, Oct. 10 (PTI) — The Hindu fundamentalist “Shiv Sena” will not have any alliance with the opposition Janata Dal for the forthcoming elections even if the Dal is prepared for it, Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray told a mammoth annual rally of party workers at the Shivaji Park in central Bombay Tuesday.

Thackeray, who was speaking at the rally organized by the party on the occasion of the Dussehra Festival, urged the people to vote for the Bhartiya Janata party Shiv Sena alliance to defeat the ruling congress (I). The alliance was necessary to avoid splitting votes, he stressed.
