Mahant Sewa Das From News Dispatches FARIDKOT: An unsuccessful attempt was made on the life of Akali Dal (Pheruman) chief Mahant Sewa Das Singh. He it seems is a one man organization.
His residence in the Dogar Basti here was attacked by gunmen which was repulsed by his bodyguard.
Elsewhere in Punjab eight persons were killed. Two militants were among the killed and two were arrested. Two constables were killed by militants and their motorcycle was set on fire.
