SHIMLA: The son of the former Chief Minister Ral Lal, and more than a dozen traders and officials are allegedly involved in yet another timber scandal.

The Himachal Pradesh police is interrogating Ram Lal’s son Jagdish Thakur and a trader Mast Ram Tanta. Both of them have obtained anticipatory bail.

The police have arrested nearly 10 officials mostly from the Forest Department for their reported involvement,

The Enforcement Directorate of the State police is reported to have conducted raids at the residence of an ex-Station master at Summer Hills near here, whose son was acting as a commission agent for Ms. Shiv Lal and Co at Rohru in Shimla district. Simultaneously raids were conducted at the Kotkhai residences of the owner of the Rohru based firm. Shiv Lal and a partner of the firm, Mast Ram Tanta.

The raids sources said led to the recovery of certain incriminating documents.
