CHANDIGARH: Gurmukh Singh the area commander of Bhindranwale Tiger Force was killed by security forces in Majithia police district.
His accomplice Satnam Singh Satta alias Chingara managed to escape during the encounter, police said on August 12.
Earlier Khalistan Commando Force Area Commander Dalbir Singh alias Daljit Singh alias Bikhi was reportedly wounded in an encounter with the police.
An unspecified number of freedom fighters fired at two special police pickets in Taran Taran. There was no casualty on either side, In an another incident two gunmen opened fire on a party of Central Reserve Police Force in Nagoke area in the same district.
Jaskaran Singh alias Kala of the Khalistan Liberation Force and five others were gunned down by the police’ I Taran Tarsn police district.
Those killed were identified as Balwinder Singh alias Gabber, Amarjit Singh alias Amba, Swran Singh, Balkar Singh and Massa Singh. Police said they were the only surviving members of the Khalistan Liberation Force led by Avtar Singh Bhrama.
