DHAKA, Bangladesh: Northeastern flood have stranded at least 300,000 people, and most of them face shortages of food and clean drinking water, officials said. The Flood Control Center in Dhaka said at least five more people had drowned Saturday, raising the death toll from two weeks of torrential rains to 155. During the rains, which ended Thursday, rivers in five districts burst embankments and washed away thousands of mud and straw houses.
