NEW DELHI: The Punjab Governor, S.S. Ray is not in favor of holding the Assembly elections in Punjab along with or before the Lok Sabha elections.

Ray is learnt to be of the view that the political situation in Punjab is rather confused, and as such holding of the Assembly elections in the near future may not be possible.

Ray is further understood to be of the opinion that the parliamentary elections can be held in Punjab alone with the other states.
