CHANDIGARH: Three suspected militants were killed and three senior security officers injured, one. of them seriously, in an encounter in Tarn Taran police district on August 6 according to the police,
The state police chief KPS Gill said three unidentified militants were killed in an encounter following a raid on their hideout at village Vienpoin near Khadoor Sahib. The CRPF Commandant N. Mishra and D.S.P.R.K Kashyap were injured in the shootout. Tam Taran DSP Sita Ram who was also seriously wounded in the encounter was rushed to Guru Tej Bahadur Hospital at Amritsar.
A combined party of the CPRF and Punjab Police headed by N.N Mishra raided a farm house in the village under Verowal police station. Commandant N. Mishra was accompanied by R.K. Kashyap and Sit a Ram Sharma. As soon as the combing party neared the farm house two militants came out of their hideouts and escaped.
