WASHINGTON: Jasbir Singh Sethi, a Houston businessman was arrested while boarding a British Caledonian Airways flight to London in 1988. In his bag gate were two pairs of night vision binoculars allegedly for export to Pakistan. The export of this equipment is possible only after permission either from the state or commerce departments.
Indicted by a grand jury on July 7, Sethi is to go before a federal jury on Sept 12, according to his Attomey. Sethi faces a possible 10 year jail term and a $1 million dollar fine.
