AMRITSAR: The All India Sikh Students Federation (Manjit Wing) has released a press statement saying that federation would not participate in the forthcoming elections as a political party.

The statement said that members of the federation did not have. any faith in the Indian constitution and disowned the Akali leadership.

The federation was committed to the goals set by the five member Panthic Committee and the Damdami Taksal in a sarbat Khalsa on January 26, 1986. The Sarbat Khalsa, it said, had demanded Khalistan.

The AISSF will continue its crusade to shun the shackles of slavery in the feet of Sikhs till the target laid by late Sant Jarnail ‘Singh Bhindranwale is achieved.

The general body of the federation, that met at an unidentified place in Ropar district, has sought suggestions from people with conscience as to how to intensify the struggle for freedom, according to. a press release. The press release warned Akali elements who were working for their own vested interests that they would not be spared and would be treated as $Sta2massands.

The press note called Sikh Students to stop copying and cheating in exams, It gave a call to all Sikh families to recruit at least one family member into the AISSF.

The press release says that only Manjit Singh and Harminder Singh Sandhu had the right to issue statements regarding the policy matters of the federation.

It condemned the government action of transferring both from ‘Amritsar to Sangrur jail, It called for a Lok Shakti (people’s power) convention at Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran on August 6.
