

FAIRFAX, VA: Sikh Foundation of Virginia Gurdwara commemorated the Shahidi Gur purb of
Guru Arjan Dev Ji on June 11, 1989 which was attended by over 800 people.
The program began with As a Di Waar by Dhadi Jatha Komal Singh Komal from New York who also recited the Dhadi War an in the main program.
There were various children groups who performed kirtan comprising, Sahiba K. Rathore, Arjun S. Sethi, Sharan K. Sandhu, Isha K. Manku, Gurdeep S. Matharoo, Manjit Singh, Jagwinder Singh, Anureet K. Deu, Sukhdeep K. Deu, Amarjeet K. Manku, Naydeep K. Kathuria, Kamaljeet K. Matharoo, Gobind S. Sethi, Sandeep K. Kaisth, Bela Deep Kaur, Monica K. Singh, Natasha K. Sethi and Sukhdeep S. Kaisth.
There were ladies groups who performed shabads. They were: Bimla K. Multani, Barinder K. Deu, Ranjeet K. Manku, Varinder K. Kathuria, Surjeet K. Matharoo, Gurmeet Kaur, Ravinder Kaur, Jasbir Kaur and Dilpreet Kaur.
There were two speeches one by a youth, Bela Deep Kaur, another one by Dr. Hardyal Singh, from World Bank. Both of them spoke about Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s Shahidi.
Film/Music director S. Mohinder, Paramjit S. Bedi, Surinder S.
Hansra, Dr. Mohinder S. Gill and Giani Kuldeep S. Deep recited shahad kirtan.
Shabeel and Guru Ka Langar was served all day.
