From Our Correspondent NEW DELHI: Justice ES. Venkataramiah Senior most judge of highest Indian courthas been appointed Chief Justice of Supreme Court by President Venkataraman. Venkataramaya is scheduled to be swom in on June 19.
The appointment has been made following relinquishing office as
Chief Justice of India by Justice Pathak to join as Justice to International Court of Justice.
Pathaks appointment followed his controversial decision in which he allowed Union Carbide a relatively small sum of money to compensate the victims of Bhopal Gas Tragedy.
