From News Dispaches JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the All India Sikh Students Federation has urged the Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah to take urgent steps to check antiSikh forces in the state and to safeguard the interests of the community.

In a statement issued here on June 15 Narinder Singh Khalsa acting general secretary of the federation said that a section of the state police had let loose a reign of terror against Sikh youths.

The statement said that Sarabjit Singh an alleged terrorist who died in police custody recently had died due to third degree torture.

Khalsa demanded arrest of the police officers responsible for Sarabjit’s death and institution of a judicial enquiry into the matter.

According to him the AISSF had decided to approach human rights organizations with requests to investigate deaths in police custody.

The federation would also mobilize Sikh masses to pressurize the Ministers and legislators belonging. to the community to resign and to work for protecting the honor of the community.
