World Sikh News erroneously and rather embarrassingly Printed a headline which read, “Inderjit Kali Rai Weds Mohinder K. Poonia.” It should have read “Inderjit Kalirai Weds Santosh Kaur.” The error is deeply regretted. We are hereby publishing the news again:
YUBA CITY: Inderjit Singh Kali Rai son of S. Gurmeet Singh and Mrs. Mohinder Kaur was married to Santosh Kaur daughter of S. Major Singh Punia and Mrs. Rachhpal Kaur of “Famous Fashion Center” at Guru Nanak Temple. Bouge Road Yuba City on June 3, 1989. The bridegroom and his family came from Derby (England) for the ceremony. Kalirai’s are closely related to S. Amrik Singh Bains (Father-in-law of S. Balbir Singh Ragi and S. Harbhaihan Singh Gill) who made all the arrangements on behalf of the groom’s family. They migrated to United States from village Nagre District Jalandhar in the early fifties.
Later a reception was held the same evening in the Fairgrounds Hall, Yuba City. The famous Sangeet Cultural Group provided melodious music and rich Punjabi songs.
World Sikh News congratulates both the families and wishes long and happy life to the couple.
