ISLAMABAD: Defense Secretaries of India and Pakistan will meet here from June 14 to 17 to discuss a gamut of defence matters, including the Siachen issue, a Pakistani Foreign Office spokesman said here today.
A three day meeting of the Foreign Secretaries of the two countries would also be held from June 16 he said.
Asked if Pakistan would raise the issue of India’s latest test firing of missiles like “Agni” and “Trishul”, the spokesman said the issue might come up for talks. Pakistan viewed these developments with concern he added.
On whether any arms reduction would come up for deliberations he said Pakistan had proposed a cut in defence expenditures of the two countries but there had been no response from India.
Asked about the recent meeting of the survey generals of the two countries the spokesman said they had not reached any decision on the border question and differences still remained.
The Foreign Secretaries would take up various matters of bilateral interests he said.
He declined that there was any change in Pakistan’s policy on i after the recent removal of the Inter Services Inte It was a purely administrative decision and would have no impact on Pakistan’s policy on Afghanistan he added.
