CHANDIGARH: Six security persons and five freedom fighters were among 14 persons killed by violence in Punjab on May 30th. KPS Gill said that a party of security forces during operation in Tarn Taran sector were ambushed by three freedom fighters near Kalangar village. Firing from light machine guns two assistant sub inspectors and one noncommissioned officer of CRPF are among those killed.

One freedom fighter was shot by the constable and remaining two freedom fighters took shelter in a farm house and in the encounter both the freedom fighters were killed. Harpreet Singh and Randhir Singh were the sub inspectors who were killed.
