WSN Staff LIVINGSTON: A large number of friends, relatives, luminaries and a wide cross section of the community of California state came together at Pente Cost Hall of Livingston to participate in the wedding of Lakhbir Singh Grewal, son of Mrs and Mr. Piara Singh Grewal of Livingston with Arundeep Khera daughter of Mrs. & Mr. Shiv Singh Khera of village Bhagpur district Ludhiana (Punjab) on Sunday, May 7, 1989.
The ceremonies were performed in a religious atmosphere in accordance with Sikh rites in an overcrowded decorated hall.
‘After the Anand Karaj ceremonies, Grewals held a reception in an adjoining Hall where the famous Shane Punjab cultural group provided melodious and colorful variety program. Some enthusiastic guests took the floor and
thrilled the guests with their dancing skills. Later the guests were entertained with sumptuous lunch.
The response to the invitation of Grewals and Kheras could be judged from the fact that the ceremony and the reception resembled to a Vaisakhi mini Mela of Punjab.
- Shiv Singh Khera and his family had come all the way from Punjab to celebrate the marriage of their daughter Arundeep.
- Piara Singh Grewal donated $500.00 for Shahidi fund and $200.00 for the World Sikh News.
The World Sikh News congratulates both the families and wishes them a long and happy married life to the couple.
